She said yes
On December 8, 2017 Sam made the (very wise) decision to take a chance in upgrading his relationship status by popping the question (refer to title for the spoiler alert). He took Jahaira out on a Friday night stroll through Chicago’s Christkindlemarket, one of her favorite places to go to in the winter time, where she took far too long in trying to capture the perfect selfie in a poorly lit environment (see below).

This concerned Sam because it was messing with the arrangements he made at their next stop: the Christmas tree at Millennium Park.

Finally, they finished their warm wines and made it to the grandiose tree. This is when they snap a few more selfies and Jahaira runs into her friends, Nikki and Vicky (and Nikki’s handsome dog, Miles). Vicky (a photographer) just so happened to be there with her camera, to which Jahaira thought nothing of and assumed she was just out capturing pretty photos of the tree. This is when Jahaira asked if they could please take a picture of her and Sam with her phone and Vicky offered to shoot one of them with her camera SINCE SHE JUST SO HAPPENED TO HAVE IT HANDY.
By the time Jahaira stood up from turning around to put their boot-shaped mugs on the ground, she found Sam down on one knee. It was at this point she freaked the fudge out because Samuel showed no signs of being nervous or even gave hint of “Hey, I’m going to propose to you” throughout any of their conversations that day, and she swore she would be able to tell. After a brief wtf-how-didn’t-I-see-this-coming moment and Sam nervously asked if she would be his forever, Jahaira finally exclaimed an “UH— YEAH!” and just like that, their relationship was upgraded from a BF/GF membership to a premium fiancé membership.

The End.

About the author:
Jahaira Rodriguez is in no way, shape, or form is a writer of any kind and is aware there may be punctuation errors and possibly even run-on sentences, like this one(?). Sam Hernandez is quite possibly a better writer, but has not provided his version of the story for time conflicting reasons. Perhaps this is a conversation piece that you may share with him the day of our wedding.
